History

Berner Foods, Inc. has been in business for over 60 years. Family-owned, we were best known in the dairy industry as a contract manufacturer producing Swiss cheese for companies like Alpine Lace. In 1988, after noticing a void in the processed cheese arena, Berner built its first processed cheese plant and began mass producing a private label cheddar cheese sauce which emulates “Cheez Whiz®.” Today, and millions of pounds later, Berner Foods, Inc. is the industry’s leading private label manufacturer of premium process cheese sauces, spreads, and toppings. We are also the private label company of the future, investing heavily in data resources and tapping into the expertise of one of the world’s foremost research and development laboratories for any technical support you require.
